This meaningful gala supports Band of Angels, a nonprofit dedicated to connecting students in need to music — one instrument at a time. Through donated instruments and access to music education, Band of Angels helps young people uncover their creativity, build confidence, and develop a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
As an artist and advocate for youth empowerment, Delynia understands how profoundly music can shape lives. Partnering with DB Enterprise & Entertainment, she proudly champions this mission, helping provide the mentorship, tools, and encouragement every young musician deserves. Together, they believe in the unifying and transformative power of music — to heal hearts, strengthen communities, and inspire hope.
This benefit was established in honor of Donivan C. Bailey, Delynia’s late brother — a gifted Kansas City jazz artist, teacher, and mentor who devoted his life to nurturing young talent. Donivan’s students remember his patience, encouragement, and joy in seeing them succeed. Though his life was cut short in 2016 due to congestive heart failure, his legacy continues to echo through the lives he touched.
